3.3.1.1. Procedure – Configuring PNS - the general process

1. Select the component that you want to configure in the Configuration tree.

2. Perform the actual configuration changes on the component. For details, see the relevant chapters.

3. Commit changes to the XML database of MS. Otherwise, the changes are lost when you navigate to another component.

   Write a brief summary about the changes into the Changelog. For details, see Procedure 3.3.4, Recording and commenting configuration changes.

4. To activate the changes, upload them to the affected PNS firewall hosts from the MS database. MS converts the changes to the proper configuration file format and sends them to the transfer agents on the firewall nodes. The changes are applied on the firewall nodes.

5. Reload the altered configurations on the firewalls, or restart the corresponding services.
