5.1.6.3. Other interface options

The following miscellaneous options can be configured for a network interface.

Note

It is rarely required to use these options in common scenarios. Only modify them if you know exactly what you are doing.

  • hwaddress: Sets the MAC address of the interface.

  • metric: Sets the metric used by the interface.

  • mtu: Sets the Maximum Transfer Unit (MTU) of the interface.

  • media: Sets the media type of the interface.

  • ttl: Sets the Time to live (TTL) parameter of the interface.
