vela-geoip-helper — GeoIP helper daemon

Synopsis

vela-geoip-helper [options]

Description

vela-geoip-helper(8) is a daemon responsible for downloading and keeping the geoip database up to date for geographical location based access conrol in vela-nfqueue-helper. Its behaviour is controlled by vela-geoip-helper.conf(5) or command-line options. Command-line options take precedence over configuration files.

Options

--verbose <num> or -v <num>

Set verbosity level to <num>. The valid values are 0-10; the default value is 3.

--log-spec <spec> or -s <spec>

Set verbosity mask on a per category basis. The format of this value is described in vela(8).

--no-syslog or -l

Send log messages to the standard output instead of syslog.

--reload or -r

Reload running vela-geoip-helper(8) daemon.

--config-file <filename> or -c <filename>

Use <filename> as configuration file instead of the default /etc/vela/vela-geoip-helper.conf.

--help or -h

Display a brief help message.

--account-id <id> or -a

Use the provided <id> when connecting to MaxMind servers for database retrival.

--license-key <key> or -k

Use the provided <key> when connecting to MaxMind servers for database retrival.

--database-edition <edition> or -e

Select MaxMind GeoIP database edition. Supported values are <GeoLite2-Country> and <GeoIP2-Country>.

--update-interval <num> or -u

Check the MaxMind servers every <num> seconds for GeoIP database update.
