5.2. Procedure – Installing MC on Microsoft Windows

Purpose: 

To install MC on Microsoft Windows, complete the following steps.

Prerequisites: 

MC requires about 30 MB of free disk space. If you also decide to install the documentation, MC requires about 300 MB of free disk space.

Make sure you have the necessary rights to perform the installation.

Steps: 

1. Run zmc-setup-<version-number>.exe.

2. MC requires the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package to be installed. The MC installer automatically installs this package.

3. Make sure that you read and understand the End-User License Agreement. To accept the End-User License Agreement, click I Agree.

4. The following step is to define the installation path. By default the installer offers "C:\Program Files\MC 1.0".

5. Optionally, select PNS Guides to install the HTML version of the Proxedo Network Security Suite 1.0 Administrator Guide and Proxedo Network Security Suite 1.0 Reference Guide documents. Click Install.

6. After the installer has completed the above steps, click Close. You can

7. To start Management Console, navigate to the Windows Start menu and start Management Console from there.
